Creative Social Engagement

What do I mean by Creative Social Engagement?

Well, 'social engagement' is a bit of a catch-all term for a project that involves an 'in-person' workshop-style session to capture discussions and data, and then a creative 'end product', such as a booklet, video, or social impact report. With these projects, I've facilitated (or helped) with the in-person event, then led on the design and illustration of the 'end product'.

These projects are often for local councils, CICs or charity organisations, and involve discussions on how to engage face-to-face groups and the best methods to gather word-of-mouth information, and then what format would be best to present the information and discoveries.

Project examples: Energy Neighbours, Salford City Council

It's very much about capturing authentic voices and lived experiences, showing evidence of provision and progress, which in turn helps those organisations guide the next stage of their goals.

As a bit of background to my approach, I'm also a performer, and have taught comedy and improv on and off for almost twenty years. I'm also involved in TEDx Warrington on the speaker team.

My approach aims to spark curiosity, build trust, and, when appropriate, use humour to help others express their opinions.
